Liverpool drew 1-1 against Chelsea after taking the lead today in the Premier League. Here are the Liverpool player ratings.

Another game we were winning but failed to take the three points in. After the second half collapse in the Champions League we needed a good performance. It was a solid showing but we gave them too many chances and did not create enough of our own.

Jurgen Klopp made five changes to the side that drew with Seville in midweek. Simon Mignolet returned in goal as expected and Joel Matip was available again after injury. The big surprises of the day were that Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino were rested for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Daniel Sturridge. Gini WIjnaladum also made way for James Milner.

The first half was pretty even and finished 0-0 with the best chances falling to Chelsea. The second half saw the Reds grow in control and that was rewarded with another goal from Mohamed Salah. He now has 15 for the season and 10 in the league as he keeps his place as the Premier League top goalscorer.

Chelsea were fortunate to get a goal with Willian’s looped cross fooling a flat-footed Mignolet to arc into the far corner. Subs were too late to make a dent in Chelsea. Reds will not be too down after a tough game like that but knowing the win was there tinges the game with disappointment.

Liverpool player ratings v Chelsea:

6. A very solid save from Eden Hazard was followed up by a suspicious punch from the following corner. He then came rushing out to deny Danny Drinkwater quickly followed by another save in a busy 5 minute spell. Got caught by Willian’s looping mis-hit cross that hit the top corner. Could have done better with that one.. Goalkeeper. Liverpool. SIMON MIGNOLET
