Liverpool player ratings: Forwards

Liverpool. MOHAMED SALAH. 8. Another game and another goal for the best player in the world. Spent the first 20 minutes on the right and had a wayward shot. He than began to pop up all over the front line and that movement helped sow doubt and caution into Chelsea as they grew in confidence. By far Liverpool’s greatest threat, he went inches wide late in the half and got his goal midway through the second.. Right Forward

6. Held the ball up well in the first half and found his teammates. His running does not open up the same space for Salah that Firmino’s does. His best chance fell to him while we were tied 0-0 but Azpilicueta put in an incredible block to deny the Englishman. Made way for Wijnaldum as Klopp looked to shore up things.. Center Forward. Liverpool. DANIEL STURRIDGE

6. Making a surprise start in a big Premier League game he started on the left before swapping with Salah and times. Worked hard and offered himself regularly but rarely looks a threat. You could see his quality in the build play for the goal as he made the crucial pass to tee up Salah.. Left forward. Liverpool. ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN

Substitutes

Gini Wijnaldum – 6

Came on for Sturridge and looked to get Liverpool on the counter attack at every opportunity.

Sadio Mane – n/a

Came on late for Oxlade -Chamberlain and had no time to make an impact. Should have been on much earlier.

Adam Lallana – n/a

A late sub for Coutinho there was no time for him to get into the game. Fantastic to see him back from injury.
