Liverpool Player Ratings: Forwards

8. Started off as a traditional left midfielder before pushing on to his more familiar role as a left forward as we switched into counter attacking mode. A goal and assist both showed his quality. The chipped finish was cool as Grant came out and set the Reds on their way. His turn and cross for Salah’s first goal was exceptional. Hit the post when he should have scored.. Left Forward. Liverpool. SADIO MANE

A very professional performance from a 20-year-old making his first Premier League start. Never looked out of place and did his confidence the world of good with an early assist with a cute flick for Mane’s goal. He had a decent effort saved by Grant and should have had another assist to his name when Mane hit the post.. Center Forward. Liverpool. DOMINIC SOLANKE. 7

6. Did well despite being used in a formation that doesn’t suit him. He is at his best as the roaming number 9 or a deep number 10. Being pushed up as a second striker left him searching for the right movement and space. Still he did everything you would expect a player of his quality to do with ease.. Left Forward. Liverpool. ROBERTO FIRMINO

Substitutions

Mohamed Salah – 8

Another brace for the Premier League’s top goal scorer, but this time it was from the bench. His fresh and fast legs gave Liverpool the energy and quality boost they needed to take a cautiously played game out of sight. The finishes weren’t bad either!

James Milner – 6

Replaced Oxlade-Chamberlain and went over to the left side until we scored the second.

Jordan Henderson – n/a

Short cameo for the captain as we shored up the midfield in the closing minutes
