Liverpool dropped two points against Everton in the Merseyside derby with a 1-1 draw in the Premier League. Here are out Liverpool player ratings:

A dubious penalty given from a bad decision by Dejan Lovren robbed Liverpool of the win in the Merseyside derby. Liverpool dominated possession and had a host of chances and are rueing the missed opportunities.

Jurgen Klopp has been rotating his team plenty in recent weeks but it is still a surprise that he made six changes for this game. Two were expected: Simon Mignolet back in goal for the Premier League and Andrew Robertson in for the injured Alberto Moreno.

The central midfield two in the 442 formation were rotated with captain & vice-captain,  Jordan Henderson and James Milner, came in for Emre Can and Gini Wijnaldum. The big shock was that Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino only made the bench. Dominic Solanke came in for his second Premier League start up front and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain took the right midfield spot.

The talk will be about how Klopp rotated too much for a such a big game. It was a huge opportunity missed in the Premier League with Chelsea and Arsenal also getting draws this weekend.

Here are our Liverpool player ratings v Everton:

Goalkeeper. Liverpool. SIMON MIGNOLET. 7. Came out flying from his box in the first 10 minutes to challenge Oumar Niasse sending the Kop hearts into their mouths. But he met the ball with a crunching challenge. Had time to do the crossword and the sudoku for the next 60 minutes before claiming well from a corner. Only other thing he had to do was pick the ball out of the net after Rooney’s solid penalty.
