Liverpool will be looking to continue their unbeaten run against West Brom this week in the Premier League. Here is the back four we want against the Baggies.

The Merseyside brought a number of questions that kept the Liverpool fan base busy these last few days. Was it a penalty and how much was Dejan Lovren to blame? Did Jurgen Klopp make a big mistake with his team selection? After a selfish miss, is something up with Sadio Mane?

To answer: no and a little; probably; probably not.

Now that is all sorted we can look ahead to Wednesday’s Premier League game against West Bromwich Albion at Anfield. The Reds can extend their unbeaten run to 11 games with a clean sheet. Liverpool have not lost at home this season but you can bet your life that new West Brom manager Alan Pardew will be desperate to prove himself against Klopp.

Here is the back four we want to see against West Brom:

Right Back: Trent Alexander-Arnold

Unusually for Klopp he gave Joe Gomez two straight games at right back. He has been rotating 5 or 6 players every game; trying to keep no-one in the side for more than two games in a row. I think we are almost guaranteed to see Trent Alexander-Arnold on Wednesday night.

West Brom play with a narrow 442 formation with a diamond in midfield. Their game plan is to crowd out the middle of the park and try to dominate the midfield battle. That leaves their flanks open to attack and counter attack.

The pairing of Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold would be perfect to exploit this weakness. There is no way that West Brom left back Nyom can cope with Salah cutting inside and Alexander-Arnold creating room on the overlap.
