Liverpool Player Ratings: Defenders

JOE GOMEZ. 7. Back in at right back after a rest against West Brom. Neither Danny Pugh in the first half or Ryan Fraser (the Scottish Messi) in the second half could do anything to get past him. Linked up well with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who was on the right of the midfield three.. Right Back. Liverpool

6. Was he playing? Can you confirm that? After Joshua King left the game with injury there was very little for the Estonian to do. Had five clearances, two interceptions, one black and 75 passes apparently. I noticed none of them. That is absolutely what I want from a center back. Boring anonymity.. Center Back. Liverpool. RAGNAR KLAVAN

8. More adept to deal with big strikers, he handles the threat of Defoe very well; even beating him for pace to recover a through ball early on. Was unfortunate to concede a free kick after making a fantastic tackle. Grabbed the second goal with a diving header to send Liverpool 2-0 up and set up for the win.. Center Back. Liverpool. DEJAN LOVREN

8. His best attacking display for the club. Frequently making forward runs that pinned the Cherries back and kept us on the front foot. He got the assist for the first goal but more crucially made the overlapping run that made the room for Coutinho’s tidy finish.. Left Back. Liverpool. ANDREW ROBERTSON
