Center Back: Ragnar Klavan

So if Matip is fit, who will partner him in the middle? For most of the season that choice has gone to Dejan Lovren. It would be no surprise if Klopp reverts to the Matip/Lovren partnership that he clearly thinks is the best central pairing at the club.

However, I think the Estonian has more than made a claim to be the man in this game. Over the last four games he has been the picture of consistency. While Lovren has also played at a high level he is still prone to an error or lapse of judgement. That penalty against Everton is a prime example.

Arsenal are a confidence team. They have the ability in players like Ozil, Sanchez and Lacazette to unlock any team. However they don’t always show that belief. That is why we cannot let them have a thing. No mistakes. No brain farts. Let them work to get a goal. Make them play football. Then we can kill them on the counter attack.

For that reason alone I would go with Ragnar Klavan against Arsenal. I never expect any more than a 7/10 from him. I’ll take that on Friday.
