Liverpool Player Ratings: Midfield

Began the game as the slightly further forward of the two deeper midfielders. However he had to drop into the holding role once Henderson was substituted. Had a very good first half as he dominated the midfield. Wilshere never got a kick. The second half rushed by him. As the game went into light speed the midfield barely got a look in.. Center Midfield. Liverpool. EMRE CAN. 7

6. Unlucky for the captain who had to leave the game after 13 minutes with an injury. James Milner came on to replace the midfielder and take the armband.. Center Midfield. Liverpool. JORDAN HENDERSON

8. Grabbed his first headed goal for Liverpool in the league after a long period of pressure. He laid off the ball to Milner before sprinting into the box to meet Salah’s deflected cross. I can see why Klopp wanted to play all four attackers but the center is not Coutinho’s best position and Mane is in a real dip of form. We may be better off with the Brazilian further forward until Mane gets out of his slump.. Center Midfield. Liverpool. PHILIPPE COUTINHO
