Liverpool Player Ratings: Midfield

5. Another pedestrian performance from the German. He is dreaming of his Italian winter next year. Had a few nice touches and flicks but lacks the passion to take over a midfield battle when we are down. Ended up getting frustrated and making silly mistakes in the second half. Lucky to play 90 minutes as Klopp chose to rest the forwards.. Center Midfield. Liverpool. EMRE CAN

Center Midfield. Liverpool. JAMES MILNER. 6. This was a rapid Premier League game and Milner was behind the pace for all of it. Could not keep up with the movement of the Leicester front three and was unable to close the gaps as they look to break, undermining our ability to press. Despite a poor game was able to get an assist with a beautiful flick through to Salah for his second. His only good moment.

7. The heart of everything good in the Liverpool midfield. Got our attack moving as the central playmaker. We do miss him doing that further forward when he is this deep and his long range goal threat is more limited. Very clever ball set Salah free in the second half but Salah could only put it on the roof of the net. Made way for Ragnar Klavan as we started to panic in the last 5 minutes.. Center Midfield. Liverpool. PHILIPPE COUTINHO
