Liverpool grab three bed points again in today’s 2-1 victory against Burnley at Turf Moor. Here are our Liverpool player ratings v The Clarets.

Liverpool beat Burnley in stoppage time as Ragnar Klavan nodded in from a yard out to start 2018 with three points.

The early news was that Mohamed Salah and Philippe Coutinho missed the trip with a knee and thigh injury respectively. That Coutinho missing the first game after the transfer window is open sent side eyes emojis around the Liverpool fanbase.

That pair were replaces by Alex Oxalde-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana who made his first start of the season. Simon Mignolet was back in the side and captain for the day. Trent Alexander-Arnold came in for Andrew Robertson with Joe Gomez shifting to his first start at left back this term.

Gini Wijnaldum took James Milner’s space in midfield while Dominic Solanke got another start to give Roberto Firmino a rest. Joel Matip was the player to make way for Ragnar Klavan. Jurgen Klopp made seven changes in all.

A class Sadio Mane goal put the Reds in front before a typical defensive lapse led to Gudmundsson equalizing. But, new year, new Liverpool? After Burnley equalized it felt like the same old Liverpool but an injury time winner – the first since who knows when – grabbed all three points for the Reds.

Here are the Liverpool player ratings v Burnley:

Liverpool. SIMON MIGNOLET. 7. Back in for Loris Karius after being rested against Leicester. He made a good save after Can’s sloppy pass gave Burnley a chance to open the scoring. Another solid save kept the score at 1-0. He had no chance with the Burnley goal.. Goalkeeper
