Liverpool Player Ratings: Forwards

8. Back on the right hand side with Salah missing where he was so effective last season. He was doubled up for most of the first half only getting one decent run with the ball. That ended with a tame left foot shot that Pope saved easily. Broke the deadlock with a piece of class. Taking Alexander-Arnold’s deflected cross with his back to goal his turned it onto his left foot before thundering his shot into the roof of the net. Back with a bang.. Right Forward. Liverpool. SADIO MANE

7. Playing as a more traditional number 9 he was more isolated in this team than Firmino usually is. However he took to the task with relish, closing everything down and threatening with pace. Young players have to go through games like this where chances are few and perseverance is rewarded. A decent showing from the youngster.. Center Forward. Liverpool. DOMINIC SOLANKE

Liverpool. ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN. 8. Played too deep in the first half which was good to help out Gomez but he was too far from Solanke to help the striker. Could have put Mane in at the end of the first half but did not put enough on the through ball. Got hold of the game in the second half, especially after the goal as Liverpool looked to stretch the field. Put in a fantastic free kick for the Liverpool winner. Man of the match for me.. Left Forward
