Liverpool have a new transfer target in AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson. Here is a transfer profile of the Reds’ latest transfer move.
As Liverpool’s activity in the January market heats up their attentions are moving to the goalkeeper position. They are pondering making a move for Atletico Madrid stopper Jan Oblak. He is has £100 million release fee in his contract.
However, that is not their only transfer target between the sticks. They are also interested in Roma goalkeeper Alisson. After the two sides successfully negotiated a deal for Mohamed Salah in the summer they maybe willing to work something out in this window also. Here is a profile of the latest Liverpool transfer target.
Physical Attributes
The 6ft 4in keeper looks the part. Tall, long arm, big hands. Ticks all the boxes for the size you want in a top stopper. Yet it is his agility that makes him stand out. He is in great shape for a goalkeeper and has the quick reflexes and spring to make every save in the book.
Technical Attributes
By far the best part of his game is shot-stopping. His highlight reels are full of the kind of miracle, reflex saves we are used to seeing from a top goalie like David de Gea. Liverpool are in desperate need of goalkeeper who can win you games. They don’t give up many chances but they do let a lot in. Alisson would instantly make it harder to grab a goal against the Reds. The other areas of his game are good too. He is confident at crosses and is a good distributor of the ball.
Mental Attributes
He appears to have bucket loads of confidence. That is essential for the position, especially at Liverpool where expectations are high. Confidence is not everything though, just look at Joe Hart. He also has high levels of concentration that keepers at big clubs need as there are long periods without much to do.
