The photos of Philippe Coutinho in the Barcelona shirt will sting but this photo of him watching Liverpool will break your heart!

It is never fun. Seeing pictures of your ex with a new love. Nobody wants to look at those. The pictures of Philippe Coutinho in Barcelona after his £145 million move will sting most Liverpool fans. Or perhaps they just make you angry. Or maybe you feel nothing, happy to move on.

However due to a journalist’s in-depth access to the transfer we can see pictures of Coutinho during the whole process. Most of the pics are mild-rage inducing photos of him on private jets making his way first to London and then to Barcelona. And any picture of ‘super agent’ Kia Joorabchian is liable to make you vomit.

But there are two photos in here that may snap on your heart-strings instead. While Coutinho was finalizing his deal to the Nou Camp he was staying in London during Liverpool’s FA Cup third round fixture with Everton.

No, I’m not crying. Your crying. Maybe you are not shedding actual tears but these photos are surprisingly heart breaking. They give you an insight into how not everything is straight forward. There are human beings behind these deals with all the conflicting emotions and motivations that we all have.

Do I think Coutinho is a bit of a d*ck for leaving midseason? Yes. Have I ever had a job I really wanted to start or a city I really wanted to move to? Yeah I have. I couldn’t wait. Because he left doesn’t mean he hates us. It also doesn’t mean that we have to hate him.

Saying all that I hope we draw Barca in the Champions League and I hope we batter them. Up the Reds!
