Liverpool are welcoming runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City on Sunday. Here is the back four we want to see against Man City.

Don’t get lost in transfer rumors. There is a game coming up. And it’s a big one. Liverpool are hosting league leaders Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday. The Reds are in the middle of a 17 game unbeaten run but that will be severely tested this weekend.

Man City have not lost a game all season. They are 15 points clear of second place Manchester United and 18 points ahead of Liverpool. They are scoring for fun and they can defend a bit too. Liverpool will certainly have to put in their best defensive performance of the season if they are to take three points from this one.

Liverpool have only lost twice in the league this year but once in the reverse fixture at the Etihad in September. The Reds were 1-0 down and causing some problems for City before Sadio Mane’s controversial red card. The second half was a cake walk for the Citizens as they strolled through the Liverpool back four to run out 5-0 winners.

Jurgen Klopp will have to go with his strongest defensive unit on Sunday. It is looking like Alberto Moreno will be available after missing the last month with injury. That means Klopp will have a full complement of defenders to choose aside from long-term absentee Nathaniel Clyne.

Will Klopp go for pace at the back to match Manchester City’s speed? Or will he build a big back four to create a wall for City to try to break down?
