Liverpool fans have reacted with skepticism to the news that they are interested in signing Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez.

The Liverpool Echo revealed that sources in Spain have written that the Anfield club are in talks with Rodriguez’s agent over a possible move.

Despite being half-way through the first year of a two-year loan deal with German side Bayern Munich, Don Balon still claimed that FSG are chatting to the Colombian’s people about a move.

This would be impossible without the consent of Bayern, who would have to cancel their deal with Madrid and the player.

But Liverpool fans aren’t impressed with this rumour, or the Echo for posting it online. Scroll down to see their reaction to it.

After missing the first couple of games with a hamstring injury, the 26-year-old has been an important part of the side – playing in 20 games across all competitions.

Rodriguez has only scored three times though, all of them coming in the league, and assisted five other goals.

This looks like he’s down on his normal level. In 33 appearances for Madrid during 2016/2017, the former Porto man hit the back of the net 11 times and assisted 13.

Liverpool would have to pay around £70 million for the playmaker as his parent club will try and claw back the money they paid Monaco in 2014.

Rodriguez would be seen as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who left to join Madrid’s massive rivals Barcelona.

Klopp and the transfer heirarchy definitely have the time to try and sort a deal out, given the player’s lengthy loan deal in Germany.
