Liverpool are back in Premier League action this weekend as they head to South Wales to take on Swansea. Here is the back four we want to see against the Swans.

A nine-day gap followed by an eight-day gap between games is far too long. One game in 17 games is just painful. I’m sure Jurgen Klopp disagrees. The Premier League doesn’t get a winter break but after the busy holiday period and ahead of European football returning I’m sure the manager is glad for the space.

Liverpool are coming off a stunning 4-3 win against Manchester City last weekend. The Reds beat the unbeaten. The Anfield atmosphere was fully aroar. Now Liverpool want to take that momentum, and their own 18 game unbeaten streak, into South Wales to take down Swansea.

Surely after a monumental win last week you just keep the same team, right? Well two late goals for Manchester City did nothing for Liverpool’s reputation as a team soft at the back and vulnerable in the mind.

There are a couple of changes that Klopp can make on Monday night to get the best out of his squad. Swansea are in dire straits. They are rock bottom of the Premier League table. However they only need four points to escape the relegation zone. A draw against Liverpool would be a fantastic result for them. Especially after the Boxing Day 5-0 pummeling they took at Anfield.

Swansea will sit deep and hope for a goal from somewhere. We will need a defense that can help the attack and repel any threat from set pieces. Here is the Liverpool back four we want to see against Swansea on Monday.
