Left Back: Andrew Robertson

I think we should continue to play the best left back in Europe. Okay that’s an exaggeration. Marcelo is pretty good. Second best left back. And I’m only joking a little.

A prolonged run in the first team after Alberto Moreno’s injury has shown the world how good this guy can be. He spent the first half of the season struggling to make it into the match day squad. During that spell he worked and learned and watched and listened.

He has gone from being good to great to unbelievable in just 7 weeks. The last two performances – in huge games against Everton and Manchester City – he has looked like a player we should have spent £80 million on not £8 million.

In what was essentially a swap deal with Kevin Stewart plus some add-ons, Hull got ripped off. Badly. I was always a Robertson believer; calling his signing underrated back in August. I love being right. But even I did not expect the kind of relentless energy, attacking verve and defensive composure we have seen in the last few weeks. Long may it continue.

Next: Torres? Alonso? All of Rafa Benitez' Liverpool signings ranked!

If Klopp wanted to give Alberto Moreno 60 minutes against Swansea then I wouldn’t mind. We need everyone fit and ready for the second half of the season. But Robertson has to be the owner of the position going forward.
