Liverpool fans are in complete meltdown as the Reds lost 1-0 away to Swansea City on Monday night.

Alfie Mawson scored the only goal of the game and helped the Swans to an improbably but vital three points.

Despite having 70% possession, Liverpool could only watched as their composure and flair melted away before their eyes like a witch in the rain.

Even Mohamed Salah, normally so cool calm and collected, was guilty of several brain farts as Jurgen Klopp’s team chased an equaliser.

Virgin van Dijk often found himself midway into Swansea’s half, such as the pressure the Reds were putting on their opponent’s defence.

And with the clock nearly down Roberto Firmino missed a glorious chance, heading against the post from a few yards out.

Despite an excellent run of form, Liverpool fans have gone into meltdown following the result – calling for a major investment in the squad before the end of the season.

With Philippe Coutinho making his dream move to Barcelona, there is definitely a creative hole that needs to be filled in the squad. However, ranting about a lack of signings this window ignores the realities on the ground.

It also ignores the fantastic performance against Manchester City, in which Liverpool needed no help scoring goals.
