Liverpool player ratings: Forwards

7. Should have scored after Jonny Evans mistake early on but the ball fell kindly for Firmino’s cute finish. Had very few scoring opportunities after that but took the best one well. Alexander-Arnold’s ball into Firmino was laid off for Salah to fire past Foster. Definitely could do with some better supply from midfield. Won the penalty.. Right Forward. Liverpool. MOHAMED SALAH

6. A delicious finish of the rebound from Salah’s shot kicked off a crazy 10 minutes of goals, disallowed goals, missed penalties and the VAR revolution. Hit the bar with his penalty. Made worse by the fact he tried a little stutter step. Just hit it Bobby. Did well to set up Salah for his goal but far too anonymous when we were going for the win.. Center Forward. Liverpool. ROBERTO FIRMINO

Left Forward. Liverpool. SADIO MANE. 5. There is a lot of speculation as to Sadio Mane’s current form. He is clearly not performing and producing at the level we’ve seen before. Is it a slow recovery to injuries? Or is it playing on the left wing? Whatever it is I hope he works it out soon. His initial movement and touch are still there but nothing was doing from the many times he had possession around the West Brom box. Subbed for Danny Ings.

Substitutes

Jordan Henderson – 7

Great to see the captain back and immediately gave the midfield a boost with his controlled possession, passion and through-balls. Helped us pin back West Brom in the last 20 minutes.

James Milner- 6

One of three subs made with half an hour to play. He played on the left of the midfield three and played very directly; crossing in balls to the box.

Danny Ings- 6

Lots of good effort and work rate from Ings but still not showing enough to change a game from the bench.
