Liverpool Player Ratings: Forwards

Liverpool. MOHAMED SALAH. 9. You can’t give him gifts; he is too good. His anticipation for the goal was brilliant and the finish was calm as you like. Kept Ben Davies firmly pinned back with pressing and the threat of a counter; neutralizing the Spurs threat. His second goal was beautiful. A shimmy past three Spurs defenders and a magnificent chipped finish. Very unlucky for him not to be a winner.. Right Forward

7. Firmino has been key for Liverpool this season. This was one of those games where he just worked and harried and hustled and moved all day. It creates space for others to play and allows the midfield to get set. Looked tired in the last 20 minutes and did not make the most of a good break, eventually giving the ball away. It would be nice if we had someone to give him a break now and then.. Center Forward. Liverpool. ROBERTO FIRMINO

SADIO MANE. 6. Mane was really up for it today, making runs and demanding the ball at every opportunity. He ran Davison Sanchez ragged, pulling the defender out of position for a torrid evening. Made way for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after 64 minutes as Liverpool conceded the momentum in the game to protect the goal advantage.. Left Forward. Liverpool

Substitutes

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 6

Came on for Sadio Mane to take the left forward position for the last 30 minutes.

Gini Wijnaldum – 6

Not a surprise to see him come on but few expected it to be for Jordan Henderson. Played ten minuted before even touching the ball.

Joel Matip – 6

Brought on for James Milner as Liverpool sat deeper and deeper in the second half to protect the lead. We didn’t keep the lead.
