Liverpool legends such as Steven Gerrard, Ian Rush and Steve McManaman are back on the pitch and it training ahead of a charity match.

The LFC Foundation Legends team were warming up ahead of their game against Bayern Munich in the Charity Legends clash.

90% of the money made from the game will be given to the LFC Foundation, which tries to help young people and children access opportunities that will change their lives.

Massive names such as Gerrard, Robbie Fowler, Xabi Alonso, Jamie Carragher, Luis Garcia and Dirk Kuyt have all been confirmed for the team.

But warming up in the video are Gerrard, Jason McAteer, McManaman, John Aldridge, Ian Rush and even Michael Owen, who all had a run out alongside LFC Foundation coaches.

Filmed at the club’s Academy, the video shows plenty of goals going in with Gerrard seeming to lead the way.

Fowler and Owen were also getting stuck into the action as it seems like they were taking their new roles seriously.

Fans can watch the game at Anfield. Kick off is on the 24th of March and tickets are just £20 for adults, £15 for over 65s and £5 for juniors. They can be bought by following the link here.

The real side will travel down south to face battling Southampton at St Marys on Sunday as they look to put the Tottenham Hotspur defeat behind them.

Manager Jurgen Klopp would have loved a player like Gerrard to call on and his leadership, passing and goal scoring ability would all have enhanced the squad.

Of course, he doesn’t. And while Jordan Henderson will never be as good as the legend, he does an excellent job in his own slightly limited way.

With more adventurous partners alongside him, there is no reason why Henderson can’t perform an equally important role in the Liverpool side.
