Liverpool Player Ratings: Midfield

Sensational in Europe but often looks behind the pace of Premier League action. West Ham pressure forced him out of his usual composure. Yet as the Hammers grew tired he was able to get his foot on the ball and dictate the midfield tempo more effectively.. Center Midfield. Liverpool. JAMES MILNER. 7

8. Opened the scoring with a header from a Salah corner. It came at just the right moment after West Ham had forced some saves from Karius and were growing into the game. Grabbed an assist with after a strong interception in midfield and perfect pass for Firmino to tuck away. Evened it our three minutes later by giving away possession in midfield after he should have passed earlier.. Center Midfield. Liverpool. EMRE CAN

ALEX OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN. 8. A decent first half adding energy to an otherwise pedestrian midfield. His pace on the break helps transition from defense to attack quickly. His drive into the box early in the second half led to an assist for Salah which had a tinge of fortune after the ball rebounded off his shin into the Egyptian’s path. Should have had a second assist after Mane hit the post. The best of the midfield today.. Center Midfield. Liverpool
