Left Back: Andy Robertson

If you don’t want to hear again about how good Andy Robertson is then you may as well skip to the next article now because I am going to hyperbolize him in the next 200 words.

Saying that Robertson is on the best run of form we have seen from a left back in 10 years sounds like and exaggeration but it really isn’t. We have really been through it as a fanbase watching clueless left backs scutter down the wing before falling over, giving the ball away or just giving up entirely.

Fabio Aurelio was decent but injured. Andrea Dossena was bad. Jose Enrique was more comedy than quality. Alberto Moreno has never hit a good run of form despite this season’s early consistency.

Not worrying about the opposition tearing up the left side of our defense is hugely liberating. Going into game expecting our left back to be one of the best players on the pitch is actual friggin’ enlightenment.

Next: All of Rafa Benitez' Liverpool signings ranked 45 to 1!

I’d like to see Robbo rested for the Porto game. I want every ounce of energy he has tearing up the left-wing of Old Trafford to give United hell!
