Right Back: Joe Gomez

This is the easiest decision for the manager. In recent weeks Trent Alexander-Arnold has become the first choice right back, starting the last five games and excelling. Despite Gomez being fit for the last three games, the younger player has been given the nod.

It will be very interesting to see who starts against Manchester United on Saturday. Previously this season, Klopp has turned to Gomez in the biggest games as the England international is a more reliable defender.

The gap between the two is now negligible. It is possible that Alexander-Arnold has done enough over the last month to be trusted at Old Trafford. Either way Gomez should start against Porto.

If Klopp is planning on using TAA on Saturday then he should be rested against Porto. Going to Gomez is not going to weaken the team, especially when conceding four goals will still get the job done!

Also if Klopp is planning on using Gomez on Saturday then he needs some minutes on Tuesday after missing the last month. I would be hesitant at throwing in Gomez against Man Utd without seeing his fitness and sharpness against Porto.
