Liverpool player ratings: Defenders

7. Made his first start in over a month after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s form has kept him out of the first team. The dominate position in the tie made for a comfortable first half for the England international. He was unlucky not to have an assist after his overlapping run was succeeded by a brilliant cross that Mane couldn’t quite finish. An easy second half to coast to the draw.. Right Back. Liverpool. JOE GOMEZ

6. Back in the side as Virgil van Dijk got to sit ahead of the big Premier League game at the weekend against Manchester United. Losing his place in the side appears to have hit his confidence as neither his playing on the ball or defensive decisions are with the same conviction he once had.. Center Back. Liverpool. JOEL MATIP

8. Dealt well with the physical threat of Aboubakar and could have scored from a set piece mid way through the first half. A hurried clearance brought a pained expression to Klopp’s face adding to the rumours that Liverpool will sign a new partner for van Dijk this summer. Made the best defensive play of the night with a huge block late on to keep it 0-0.. Center Back. Liverpool. DEJAN LOVREN

7. A comfortable game for Moreno to continue his journey back to full fitness. Minutes on the pitch have been hard to come by as <a href=. Left Back. Liverpool. ALBERTO MORENO
