3. Jurgen Klopp owns Jose Mourinho

The pair of superstar managers have faced each other eight times over the years. Klopp has a record of three wins, four draws and only one loss (to Real Madrid while at Dortmund). While we would surely like more in the win column, their head-to-head record reveals just how much Mourinho struggles to game plan for Klopp’s high tempo football.

Mourinho has always done well against possession first teams. He organizes the defense and midfield to neutralize short passing sides and then hope to hit them on a counter or capitalize on a mistake.

Liverpool don’t need to dominate possession to kill a side. They are so devastating on the counter and in Firmino and Salah have players that can create goal scoring opportunities from otherwise harmless situations.

Manchester United are going to have to show something more than they have in the last two seasons of Mourinho’s reign if they have any hope of getting a result against this Liverpool side.
