Liverpool Player Ratings: Defenders

Liverpool. TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD. 4. A tough one for the youngster. Initially failed to get goal side for Rashford’s run before being sold every single penny of the turn that gave the striker an acre of room to pick his spot. Not so culpable for the second goal but turned his back to the shot making himself smaller.. Right Back

Dejan-vu. Inexplicable errors that kill Liverpool in a big game. His first half was just as bad as the one against Spurs earlier in the season. Did not make a challenge on Lukaku for his headed flicked assist. Got bullied by the Belgian for the second goal. Let Mata wander free for his bicycle kick and gave away stupid foul on Fellaini lat on. Horrible showing.. Center Back. Liverpool. DEJAN LOVREN. 2

VIRGIL VAN DIJK. 6. Defended well enough despite the sh*t show that was happening to the right of him. Had two good chances to score from corners; one glorious chance that hit his shoulder as he couldn’t quite stoop low enough. Needs a reliable partner ASAP.. Center Back. Liverpool

ANDREW ROBERTSON. 6. Andy Robertson was unlucky not to win a penalty after his cross hit Antonio Valencia’s hand. Dealt with Alexis Sanchez very well and had only one moment where he was caught by a run in behind. Took Klopp too long to push the full backs forward.. Left Back. Liverpool
