Liverpool Player Ratings: Forwards

Forced wide in the first half and had no influence on the game. As the full backs were pushed forward he could play inside more and had a better second half. Did a lot of good defensive work that will go largely unnoticed. Skied the last chance of the game.. Right Forward. Liverpool. MOHAMED SALAH. 6

Liverpool. ROBERTO FIRMINO. 6. Eric Bailly did an excellent job on the Brazilian; closing his space and shepherding deeper where Matic and McTominay were waiting. Did better after the defender went off injured by was too cute in his execution. This type of game is where we miss a more direct center forward.. Center Forward

His running was very good, finding more space than either of his forward colleagues. However he wasted every single opportunity that came his way for 90 minutes. He got an ‘assist’ for the own goal but in reality that was bad ball to a red Man Utd shirt and he got lucky that Bailly flicked it in.. Left Forward. Liverpool. SADIO MANE. 5

Substitutes

Adam Lallana- 5

Came on, did nothing. Need more pace and energy from subs when losing rather than guile.

Next: All of Rafa Benitez' Liverpool signings ranked!

Gini Wijnaldum- 5

Putting on Wijnaldum when you need a goal away from home? Yeah, not the bet plan.

Dominic Solanke- 6

Replaced Andy Robertson with five minutes to play but United had too many tall, strong players for him to exert any influence.
