Liverpool journalist Melissa Reddy has nailed the Jamie Carragher issue in a brilliant threat on Twitter.

The Joe.co.uk writer, who has penned this excellent article on Roberto Firmino, hit the nail on the head during a short, three tweet thread on the social media network.

Reddy took to the platform to share her views on the spitting incident and once again sounded like one of the most sensible voices in the room.

There have been a number of opinions heard on the matter, but few lack the clarity of thought and succinct nature that cuts through the rubbish and accurately points out one of the underlying issues at hand.

For his part in the incident, Liverpool legend Carragher has been suspended from his role at Sky Sports after issuing an apology for his inexcusable behaviour – said the BBC.

The video, which the Mirror obtained, shows an irate Carragher spiting at a car after the driving – who is also filming the altercation – taunted the former Reds defender about the recent 2-1 loss to Manchester United.

His daughter, who was sat in the front passanger seat, seems to be the only sane occupant of both cards and begged her father to stop.

While Carragher’s future with his current paymasters is unclear, a number of former colleagues and journalists have come out in support of his character.

Simon Hughes, who writes a lot about Liverpool for publications such as the Independent, Gary Neville and Gary Lineker all believe Carragher should be given a second chance.

Whether he will is unclear at this stage, but reading Reddy’s thread will certainly make you more informed about the subject. It might even help you see clearer as well.
