Liverpool fans have reacted to the ‘brilliant’ Robert Firmino surprising a supporter with a birthday cake.

The striker is a constant presence on social media, but this time he didn’t need to post anything is the delighted supporter did all the hard work for the Brazilian.

In the video, which was shared on Twitter, the forward is seen carrying out the cake at a restaurant to the birthday queen – who could hardly believe her eyes.

And even though it seemed like Firmino was bailing on the hug request, the original poster (@Gaffa_1980) confirmed that he went over, hugged the lady and posed for pictures.

Things like that really serve to build a bond between the community of supporters and the club, and Firmino is doing everyone at Liverpool proud.

It appears as if the squad that’s been assembled under manager Jurgen Klopp’s watchful eye is as humble off the pitch as they are exciting to watch on it.

With the wages and superstar status many of them enjoy, a more giving attitude towards the public has slowly been fostered. And that doesn’t just mean charitable donations, but small acts of kindness like that which can really make someone’s day.

Mohamed Salah is an example of one who regularly helps out those in need. Back in December the Mirror wrote how the forward donated £26,612 to help retired Egyptian football players – while the Daily Mail wrote about his incredible £500,000 donation to an Egyptian hospital.

With players like this within the squad, it will only serve to bond them closer to the community they play for and enhance the support they get from the terraces.
