Liverpool cruised to a magnificent 5-0 win against Watford in the Premier League at Anfield. Here are our Liverpool player ratings v the Hornets.
Liverpool are brilliant. Mohamed Salah is magic. Snow is white. An emphatic display after last week’s loss and the Champions League draw with Manchester City. The first hattrick of Salah’s Liverpool career and the first by any player in the league under Jugen Klopp.
There were four changes from the side that lost to Manchester United last weekend. Despite claiming Joe Gomez had a knock, the England international was back in the side at right back with Trent Alexander-Arnold making way. Next to him Joel Matip returned to the side ahead of Dejan Lovren who came under much criticism last week.
Two changes in midfield with captain Jordan Henderson returning and Gini Wijnaldum fit again. Vice -captain James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain moved to the bench.
Two first half goals for Mohamed Salah put Liverpool well in control. The second half was a walk in the wintery park. A cute Roberto Firmino finish effectively killed the game as a contest before Salah tagged on another brace to make it 36 goals for him in his debut season.
