Liverpool Player Ratings: Forwards

Great to see Danny Ings getting his first start sin 2015 after three years of injury hell and recovery. Pretty anonymous in the first half as he lined up on the right of the forward three. Ran around a lot but did nothing of any note in the second half. Made way for Trent Alexander-Arnold for the last five minutes.. Right Forward. Liverpool. DANNY INGS. 5

Center Forward. Liverpool. DOMINIC SOLANKE. 5. Had Liverpool’s best chance of the first half and forced a very good save from Jordan Pickford on the turn with his left foot. Probably should have scored. Hard to say what his future will be at the club. Get the feeling a goal would settle him down and we can see how good he really is. As it stands his first goal is a monkey on his back.

7. Needed to do more defending that attacking in the first half as he was protecting makeshift left back Ragnar Klavan. Put his only real chance of the half well over and wide. The only player you believed would create something but never did. Was rested after 70 minutes for Roberto Firmino.. Left Forward. Liverpool. SADIO MANE

Substitutes

Alex Oxlade Chamberlain – 7

Gave James Milner a decent rest by coming on for the vice captain. Came very close to scoring not long after coming on with a shot that flew just wide of the right hand post.

Next: All Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool signings ranked!

Roberto Firmino – 6

Would rather had not seen the Brazilian at all but the thought of sneaking a winner and the opportunity to rest Mane saw his come on to no avail.

Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6

Put on for Danny Ings who was tired late on.
