Liverpool take a healthy 3-0 lead into the second leg of the Champions League quarter final against Manchester City. Here are five reasons they will finish the job.

What a night it was. Liverpool beating Manchester City 3-0 is up there with the greatest European nights at Anfield in the Champions League era; Olympiakos in 2004; Chelsea in 2005; Arsenal 2008; Real Madrid 2009 and Dortmund in 2016. The difference is that they were all decisive games to qualify for the next round. Last week was just the first leg.

Now on the eve on the return fixture the euphoria of last week seems a long time ago. There is just this game. Nothing else. In the world. This game is everything. Thinking about it in the car on the way to work. Keeping you up at night. There is still a job to do and we can’t rest until it’s done.

We all know that Manchester City are capable of beating a team by 3 or 4. No-one in football doubts that. Every Red that has been following longer than five minutes also knows that Liverpool are very capable of blowing this. Heck we’ve blown a first half 3-0 lead in the Champions League already this season!

Despite the anxiety levels reaching DEFCON 1 there is more than a little encouragement that Liverpool are going to get the result they need at the Etihad. Here are five reasons that Liverpool will finish the job on Tuesday night and qualify for the Semi-Finals of the Champions League.
