No. 2 – Fallible City

They are the greatest ever Premier League team we were told. Well if the last 5 days are anything to go by that is huge exaggeration. Liverpool have exposed the fallibility of Manchester City twice already this season. On Saturday Manchester United did the same; turning a 2-0 first half deficit into a 3-2 win at the Etihad.

You can get at this defense. Vincent Kompany is still strong as an ox but you would love to see Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino or Sadio Mane is a straight race with him. Kyle Walker was at fault for Liverpool’s first goal last week and has proved he does not have a big game temperament.

They have been shuffling the makeshift left backs of Fabian Delph and Aymeric Laporte and Danilo since Benjamin Mendy when down injured early in the season. Seeing any of that trio line up against Salah is a dream for Reds.

Most crucially the last week has shown how the City heads can drop. When they sense things going against them they are not equipped to respond. They haven’t had to learn as they’ve been in control of almost every game they’ve played. In that regard Liverpool are better prepared for this two leg match scenario.
