No.3: West Brom Are Fighting For Their Future

If West Brom lose on Saturday they are almost certainly relegated. They will be nine points behind 17th placed Swansea who will have two games in hand and superior goal difference with only nine points left for West Brom to play for. It won’t be official at the final whistle but it will be as good as done.

The Baggies have history of miracle escapes. Somehow in 2005 they avoided the drop when it long had looked inevitable they would go down. The Hawthorns crowd will be looking to summon up some of the same magic against Liverpool.

Swansea have to go Man City on Sunday and the league champions will want to lift the trophy with a big win. That gives West Brom hope. And hope is the last thing we want them to have. Last week proved they can get a result with an organized display and taking a chance when it comes their way.

The Reds have been surprised by the fight and resilience of this side twice already this season. How much more will those characteristics be on display in a ‘do-or-die’ game for the Baggies? We will find out on Saturday.
