6. No adventure from the captain today as the early goal saw the Liverpool midfield sit deep and force West Brom to break them down. Was as guilty as anyone of slowing down after the second Liverpool goal.. Center Midfield. Liverpool. JORDAN HENDERSON

Did well to get an assist in the first few minutes. Trapped the ball into the box to tee it up for Danny Ings. Spent the rest of the match trying to link up with Mane and Moreno to not much effect. The old adage remains: Gini in an away game? You don’t get much.. Center Midfield. Liverpool. GINI WIJNALDUM. 6

Center Midfield. Liverpool. JAMES MILNER. 7. Liverpool’s best midfielder was Liverpool’s best midfielder. James Milner was the the only one of the trio to offer anything going forward. Often took up space on the right hand side, putting balls in the box and spreading the play.
