Liverpool took a commanding 5-2 lead in the Champions League semi-final first leg against AS Roma. Here are the Liverpool player ratings v Roma.
Liverpool took charge of the Champions League semi-final tie with an emphatic 5-2 win. It was not all happy days though with conceding two late goals to give Roma some hope. Also an injury to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain was worrying to see.
Jurgen Klopp made five changes from the side that drew at West Brom on Saturday. Three changes at the back with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dejan Lovren and Andrew Robertson returning for Joe Gomez, Ragnar Klavan and Alberto Moreno.
One change in midfield with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain playing over Gini Wijnaldum. Roberto Firmino regained his spot as the central forward from Danny Ings.
Roma had much of the early play but Liverpool turned the tide and was rewarded with two fantastic goals from Mohamed Salah before the break. They then took full advantage of Roma pressing for an away goal by getting three more. The two late Roma goals make the second leg interesting but it is full advantage to Liverpool at the half way mark.
