Liverpool Player Ratings: Forwards

Liverpool. MOHAMED SALAH. 10. Ronaldo, Messi, Salah. Yes, that’s how it is. Two goals. Two assists. Both finishes highlight his quality. The first was a powerful curler with his left foot perfectly into the top corner. The second goal was a beautiful chipped finish over the onrushing Alisson. Chose to give Mane and Firmino goals rather than get his hattrick. Love every curly hair on his head.. Right Forward

Center Forward. Liverpool. ROBERTO FIRMINO. 9. Bobby Firmino having a season to rival Suarez in 2013/14; 30 goals and 15 assists. Nobody really noticing because of Salah. Add to that his Dirk Kuyt-levels of work and you have a world class player. First goal was a tap in. Second goal was a header. Like a normal striker. Yet we all know he is so much more.

8. A tale of two halves for Mane. Nothing happened for him in the first half; missed two chances with shanks; an offiside goal ruled out; couldn’t find the last pass. Was part of the second half blitz that gave Liverpool control of the tie and got a nice side footed finish for the third.. Left Forward. Liverpool. SADIO MANE

Substitutes

Gini Wijnaldum- 9

Unlucky not to start but was called on early after Oxlade-Chamberlain’s injury. Grabbed the chance to impose himself on the occasion. Drove forward with the ball and was excellent in his decision-making.

Danny Ings- 6

Came on for Salah to give the Egyptian King a rest. Probably on 10 minutes too early as Liverpool energy dropped without their main man.

Ragnar Klavan- n/a

Thrown on for Firmino after two Roma goals kept the tie alive for the Italians.
