As good as Gerrard! Liverpool fans can’t believe midfield star’s performance
Liverpool fans can’t believe how well James Milner played against Roma in the Champions League semi-final first leg.
Milner started the game and played extremely well, creating competition history when he grabbed his ninth assist.
The former Manchester City man now has more than any other player in history, beating Wayne Rooney, Roberto Firmino, Neymar, Ryan Giggs and Xavi.
And that has led to many Reds fans calling his performance on the day complete as Liverpool beat their Italian opposition 5-2. Scroll below to see what they’ve been saying!

At the start of the season, many would have scoffed if it was suggested that Milner would be the heartbeat of the side’s European adventure.
But now he’s put all those ill thoughts to shame and continues to show his value to the club. Jurgen Klopp clearly trusts the former England international, and Milner has responded to that with a series of peerless performances.

One dark spot in the evening was conceding two late goals that’ll allow Roma a sniff during the home fixture. But all Liverpool have to do is hit the back of the net and those nerves will start to dissipate.
The result also vindicates Klopp decision to rest several key players for the game against West Brom, which ended as a 2-2 draw.
If things had gone against the Merseyside outfit on Tuesday night, Klopp would have been left with egg on his face. But it worked perfectly.
The Reds now take on Stoke City on Saturday before flying to Italy to face Roma again on Thursday. A trip to London awaits Liverpool the following Monday as they take on Chelsea, before a home game against Brighton wraps up the season.
