Liverpool host Stoke City on Saturday in the Premier League on Saturday and the Potters’ manager Paul Lambert is boasting about his Anfield record.

Stoke City manager Paul Lambert has never lost as a manager at Anfield and he telling anyone who will listen. Liverpool face his side at home in the Premier League this weekend with both teams needing a result. Lambert is confident his record at Anfield proves he can get the result they need.

The Potters are 19th in the Premier League with just six wins all season. They are four points away from safety with three games left. All the teams directly above them have a game in hand. They need to win an Anfield but they sure as heck can’t lose.

Lambert referred to his record as both a manager and player in his pre-match press conference; highlighting his undefeated experience as a boss and winning as a player.

Stoke aren’t the only team that needs to win on Saturday. Liverpool are fighting to secure Champions League football for next season. While an eight point cushion over fifth place Chelsea looks healthy a loss to Stoke, followed by another loss at Stamford Bridge next weekend, would make for a very nervy last day of the season.

Lambert managed to eke out good results with both Norwich City and Aston Villa at Anfield. It was his Christian Benteke led side that beat Liverpool 3-1 at Anfield in 2012. That set in motion the striker’s great run against the Reds leading to him joining Liverpool in 2015.

We owe Paul Lambert a beating at Anfield, for being cocky ahead of this game but also for initiating the purchase of Benteke. I hope the Reds come out all guns blazing on Saturday and have the game wrapped up at half-time and we can all turn our attentions to the Champions League semi-final second leg on Wednesday.
