Liverpool starlet Trent Alexander-Arnold has a Champions League statistic that humiliates Mersey rivals Everton.

Alexander-Arnold has already played for games in the top European competition than the Toffies have managed in their entire history!

At the age of 19, the right-back has made 11 UCL appearances. In comparison, the Ev have just three. To make matters worse, the Goodison Park outfit can count just nine in the Europa League.

And it seems like no matter how many overpriced attacking midfielders you buy or former world class players who are passed their prime you offer a fairytale end to their career, things are just not going to change.

Given the recent news of Allardyce extending his stay with Everton, it doesn’t look like they’ll be pushing Liverpool for a spot in the top four any time soon.

As a graduate from the Melwood academy, Alexander-Arnold bleeds red and he’s got to be absolutely over the moon with that little statistical nugget.

He is yet to make his full England debut, but the starlet has already played 28 first team games this season – which include 16 in the Premier League and 10 in the Champions League.

Joe Gomez was providing excellent competition for the right-back spot, but Gomez picked up an injury while playing for the Three Lions and Alexander-Arnold jumped at the chance to make that position his own.

TAA has now played the full 90 minutes in six of the last 10 league games, featured for 80 minutes against Manchester United and was rested against Watford and West Brom – both times for Gomez.

But that stat shows the gulf that has opened up between the two Merseyside clubs. At the start of the season, disgraced former Sky Sports pundit Richard Keys infamously tweeted that Everton would finish above Jurgen Klopp’s men at the end of the campaign.

Despite all the money they’ve spent, the Blues remain unable to catch up with their illustrious rivals. Long may it continue!
