Liverpool fans have reacted to James Milner and his incredible line in his post Roma interview.

Milner started the Champions League semi-final second leg and played an important role in seeing the Reds through to the final, which will be played against Real Madrid.

The former Manchester City man has been a surprise European package this campaign, and leads the competition in terms of assists. He has nine.

At the start of the season few would have predicted Milner, who doesn’t drink alcohol, would be such a creative force. And it appears he’s creative in more than one sense, as this post-match interview shows.

Roma gave Liverpool a scare on the night as they won 4-2, but lost on aggregate. The Reds were 2-1 up at one stage after Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum hit the back of the net. A Milner own goal allowed the Italians a sniff.

From there Edin Dzeko claimed a goal before Radja Nainggolan hit two in the last eight minutes of the game to create an extremely tense finish.

After pulling off a miracle comeback against Barcelona, belief would have been strong within the Roma side after they pulled ahead. Luckily, that 5-2 hammering at Anfield proved to be too much of a barrier to overcome and Liverpool went through.

Milner will like his chances of starting in the final against Madrid, who also had a nervous end to their semi against Bayern Munich.

This really has been a fairtale story for the Jurgen Klopp led outfit, and if Mohamed Salah is fit anything could happen. There is an outside chance of making history, but few would have expected Liverpool to progress this far anyway.
