Liverpool Player Ratings: Forwards

MOHAMED SALAH. 6. The exertions of the last few months are catching up with the Egyptian who does not look as crisp or as clinical as he did just a few weeks ago. Was rightly yellow carded for a dive on the edge of the box shortly after Liverpool went a goal down. Chelsea did a great job of stopping Liverpool feeding the Egyptian and he ended up with one of his quietest games in 2018.. Right Forward. Liverpool

7. One of those feisty Roberto Firmino performances in the first half where he is a constant nightmare for the opposition defenders. Held up the ball, linked with his colleagues and chased down everything. Faded into the periphery in the second half as the energy levels evaporated.. Center Forward. Liverpool. ROBERTO FIRMINO

Left Forward. Liverpool. SADIO MANE. 7. Had the best chances of the first half for Liverpool, forcing two save from Courtois in quick succession and was the liveliest of the front three. Drifted more centrally in the second half but with three center halves and three central midfielders there was no space for Mane to operate.

Substitutes

Jordan Henderson- 7

The captain was the only player rested after the Semi-Final win as he has an ankle complaint that needs careful managing. Helped Liverpool spread the play after coming on but the wide players could make nothing of the service.

Next: Three Man Utd flops who would shine under Klopp!

Dominic Solanke – 5

No goals for Solanke in his debut season and he never looked like changing that with his 20 minute run out today. Two headers that he could not put on target will haunt him tonight. A revenge goal against his former club would have been nice.

Alberto Moreno – 6

We desperately need goals from the bench and is very telling of the poverty of our creative options in reserve that Moreno is the best we can find in the last ten minutes.
