Liverpool are scared that attacker Rhian Brewster will quit the club and move to the Bundesliga.

The 18-year-old signed from Chelsea three years ago, but is yet to agree professional terms with the club and is still on a scholar agreement – said the Guardian.

Despite being considered a first team option for next season, Liverpool are yet to convince Brewster that he has a future on Anfield. The newspaper wrote that manager Jurgen Klopp is a fan of the youngster and has been in personal talks with the forward, but to no avail.

Red Bull Leipzig, who will lose Naby Keita to the Reds this summer, and Klopp’s former side Borussia Dortmund are two names to be linked with the striker.

After winning the Golden Ball at the U17 World Cup in October, a number of continental sides took notice of Brewster and now Borussia Mönchengladbach are leading the race for his signature, said the broadsheet.

However, it’ll be interesting to see if his latest injury battles will prevent clubs from signing the youngster. Brewster will have another operation on his ankle and will now be out of action until pre-season – wrote This Is Anfield.

Liverpool are lucky to have a promising clutch of youngsters at the club. Ben Woodburn has been around the first team squad all season, Harry Wilson has impressed with his explosive loan spell at Hull City and Trent Alexander-Arnold continues to improve.

Marko Grujic also helped spearhead Cardiff City’s promotion to the Premier League and played 13 Championship games since moving to Wales in January, while Sheyi Ojo scored four goals and created two during 22 appearances for Fulham.

But if Brewster were to leave for Germany, he wouldn’t be the first English starlet to take that route. Jadon Sancho left Manchester City for Dortmund this season and has played in 11 Bundesliga games, scoring once and assisting four times.
