In the rest of the night’s awards, Gemma Bonner was named the Ladies Player of the Season, while Sophie Ingle was crowned the Ladies Players’ Player of the Season. The Liverpool Ladies are currently fifth in the league, tied on points with Arsenal and Reading.

The Bill Shankly Community Award for “[upholding] the Liverpool way” went to Fans Supporting Foodbanks. Fans Supporting Foodbanks is a partnership between the Spirit of Shankly supporters group and the Everton Supporters’ Trust, whose goal is to provide food for food banks in need.

The Supporters’ Club of the Season was awarded to the New South Wales supporters club, which has existed since 1977. They became an official supporters club for the Reds in 2007 and have over 500 paid members.

Liverpool’s 1978 European Cup-winning team won the Outstanding Team Achievement Award. The Reds bested Club Brugge 1-0 with a goal from Kenny Dalglish to win their second European Cup.

Lastly, the Lifetime Achievement Award went to Ian Callaghan. Callaghan, now 76, made 640 appearances for the Reds from 1959 to 1978. He won two European Cups and five First Division titles (the Premier League’s predecessor), as well as the 1966 World Cup with England.
