Liverpool Player Ratings: Defenders

Back into the right back position after a couple of games in midfield. Looks totally at home in the role. That is incredible as he had never played there before this season. Now he looks like the best teenage full back in the world. He’ll see plenty of Cristiano Ronaldo in the Champions League final. Amazing that I’m not really worried about that.. Right Back. Liverpool. TRENT ALEXANDER-ARNOLD. 8

8. There is no other player that had benefitted from the positivity and friendship Klopp has developed in the Liverpool dressing room more than Dejan Lovren. His relationships with Salah and Oxlade-Chamberlain have helped keep him as an important team member when his Liverpool career hit an <a href=. Center Back. Liverpool. DEJAN LOVREN

8. Virgil van Dijk was on it. Afforded plenty of time with the ball as Brighton started deep, he spread the play at will. A handful of his long raking passes to the wings elicited audible ‘oohs’ from the Kop. Defensively he had the whole game in his pocket. The best defender Liverpool have had since Carra and Hyypia. He can match them with a European Cup in two weeks time.. Center Back. Liverpool. VIRGIL VAN DIJK

Liverpool. ANDREW ROBERTSON. 9. The best left back in the Premier League just being the best left back in the Premier League! All the tireless running and tracking we now expect was present but it was also combined attacking production. His whipped ball in for Lovren to head home was perfect. Topped off a breakout season with his first league goal for Liverpool. We all love Robbo and Robbo loves us.. Left Back
