This farewell video of incoming Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita should have fans quivering with excitement.

RB Leipzig are losing the powerhouse after just two seasons. While they might be gutted to see the back of Keita, the rest of the Bundesliga won’t be.

In 71 appearances for Leipzig, the Guinea man hit the back of the net 17 times and assisted 15 other goals.

Playing from a central midfield position, that’s an incredible good return in a competitive league. Keita is a dynamic, powerful player who runs for days – something that Jurgen Klopp values very highly. Have a look at the highlights video below and see for yourself!

With the uncertainly surrounding Emre Can, the arrival of the 23-year-old should help smooth the transition period. While it’s irritating to be on the verge of losing Can for free, wounds should heal pretty quickly if the German’s replacement hits the ground running.

Klopp has played it patient in the transfer market before, most notably with the signing of Virgin van Dijk, and he’s done it again with Keita.

But the deal also reinforces a key position and allows the backroom staff to concentrate on other areas. Another first team forward would be ideal, and it would lessen the burden on Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.

At the turn of the year, everyone with an opinion to give would have been shouting at Klopp to bring a goalkeeper in. But now, the improvement of Loris Karius will make everyone pause for thought.

Karius has got a lot better as the whole defence has improved. Van Dijk surely has something to do with that, but so will the coaching department at Melwood.
