Liverpool fans are still angry about Sergio Ramos injuring Mohamed Salah in the Champions League final but he did the same to Dani Alves last season

Despite pundits on the day saying Sergio Ramos’ foul on Mohamed Salah was an accident, the common consensus is now he did it maliciously. The Spanish dirtbag was successful in his attempt to injure Salah and remove Liverpool’s best player from the game.

The photo and video evidence of the incident is pretty damning though few are expecting UEFA to do anything about it. Ramos has a reputation for injuring – or trying to injure – opponents. One specific incident from last year’s final seems to suggest he has tried this technique before.

During the 2017 Champions League final against Juventus, Ramos grabbed Dani Alves’ arm and tried yanking him to floor, much in the same vein of his maneuver on Salah.

The really disgusting element is one again Sergio Ramos trying to roll over on to the player’s arm with his full body weight. He wan’t as successful on that occasion but he clearly improved the technique for this year’s final.

While many Liverpool fans are incensed by Ramos’ actions there are some contrarian voices that see it as part of the game and will to win.

A number of observers are comparing the Liverpool fan’s rage at Sergio Ramos to the mild appreciation of the antics of Luis Suarez when he was at Anfield.

They Uruguayan striker was guilty of diving, play acting and, most famously of all, biting opponents. He was also found guilty of racially abusing Louis Saha that remains a controversial incident amongst Suarez’ defenders and detractors in the Liverpool fanbase.

With retrospective action from UEFA highly unlikely most Reds are best off hoping for a Karmic ordering of the universe by Sergio Ramos getting injured before or during the World Cup.
