Liverpool fans were caught by surprise today as Linda Pizzuti responded to them on Twitter with some smart comments.

Like many celebrities and influential people Linda Pizzuti Henry is on Twitter. And like most of those people she doesn’t tend to interact with the thousands of people messaging her. Until today.

The wife of Liverpool Football Club owner John W Henry engaged with some Reds fans today with some hilarious replies.

She put out a tweet earlier today praising the work of the journalists of the Boston Globe newspaper that she and her husband also own. One Liverpool fan tweeted “Just here for the Announce Fekir replies”. Surprisingly he got a response:

Liverpool fans have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of Nabil Fekir’s move from Lyon to Anfield after reports that a deal was done. I’m glad that she can laugh at the predictable ‘announce…’ tweets. It must get tiresome.

Another user jumped on asking for her a date, before a third LFC fan warned her off the user; claiming he had already asked Liverpool based journalist Melissa Reddy out. She kept the convo going with some smart replies:

Perhaps Linda Pizzuti was bored this morning or just feeling particularly playful but she didn’t stop there. When one fan offered a ‘joke’ about calling John Henry by the name Henry John she offered this deadpan response:

The couple have received a heap of on-line abuse from some sections of the Liverpool fanbase; particularly the #FSGOut group. Those are fans who don’t believe Fenway Sports Group are doing enough investment to push Liverpool to the Premier League title and European trophies.

The last 6 months have been a difficult time for that strange subsection of fans; FSG are spending big sums of money on players like Virgil van Dijk, Naby Keita, Fabinho and potentially Fekir. A trip to the Champions League final also didn’t help their partisan complaints.
