He is by no means the original, but as far as snake-like behavior goes, he is probably the best. Or worst. Whatever you wanna chose.

Can ran his contract down on purpose, he never wanted to be a permanent fixture at Anfield and he always, always had his eye on the next move.

As Liverpool fans have experienced before, players do want to move away. The German clearly fancied playing for Juventus, but rather than wait for them to make a bid he made a calculated decision to run down his contract and deprive the club a transfer fee.

It was a move that you could see coming from a mile off, but it doesn’t make his actions any easier to digest.
